It’s that time of year again!
Some of you might be excited for today, or some others of you just might be looking forward to the candy sales tomorrow. There are huge excitement surrounding to each one (& trust me, I feel you on both of those options).
I also know there can be pressure surrounding Valentine’s Day, especially when it falls on a weeknight! Instead of comparing yourself to the other mom’s on Instagram with their perfect romantic plans for the night, it’s okay to just focus on trying to get all the Cheerios off the floor before someone steps on them.
It’s completely normally and expected to not have a chance to plan an extravagant date night.
Still, I hope that you get a chance to spend some time with just you and your partner. To do this, I wanted to share a couple more practical options for what a fun Valentine’s Day date could look like for you guys. (Also they take little to no time to plan so they’re definitely do able).
1. Get takeout from a fancy restaurant.
Sometimes taking kids with you can just ruin any sense of relaxation a fancy night out could have brought. Keep some of the excitement of a fancy meal, but also shamelessly wear pajama pants while enjoying not having any new dishes to wash.
2. Rent a movie you’ve been dying to see.
I know work is probably going to be waking you up early the next day, but it’s worth it to get some alone time together! Making a relationship work while you’re raising kids is so difficult, and taking time to celebrate that accomplishment together is good for you.
3. Spent the night snuggling in.
Especially when life gets as crazy as it does, night of just being together became rarer and rarer. Cherish a night to yourselves, and maybe even try and tuck the kids in earlier tonight.
I would love to hear what you are planning for tonight, leave your ideas or best Valentine day memories of the past in the comments bellow.
Cheers to a fun night!
